This course provides a deep insight into the value investment approach taken by one of the experts in the industry. Listen to Robert Swift describe the use of value, momentum and quality factors within a quantitaive screening model as well as what checks are required to avoid being fooled by the accounting tricks or caught out by strategically weak companies or those with poor governance. Use the models provided by the manager to road test this investment style, so you too can screen for stocks using the VMQ approach. Finally listen to case studies on selected international stocks where he shares his views on why he invested or chose not to invest in those companies he analysed.

Introduction to Global Equity High Conviction Investing 00:08:00
In this module, Robert shares an overview on his investment methodology and introduces the key concepts the value investment style to provide a background for the following modules in the course.
Value Investing 00:07:00
Learn with Robert Swift about value investing and why value characteristics are important when selecting share investments. This module discusses what is meant by a value stock, the research supporting value investing and why value is necessary but not by itself sufficient within an investment process.
VMQ Factors 00:10:00
In this module, Robert shares an overview on his investment methodology and introduces the key concepts of the value investment style to provide a background for the following modules in the course.
VMQ Screening 00:06:00
Learn about how to apply a quantitative screening process to a universe of stocks to reduce the number under consideration to a managable number. In this module you will learn about how to take raw data from each of the factors considered and combine this into a single VMQ score.
VMQ Exercise 00:30:00
Use the screening models from the manager to learn more about the VMQ process and to build your own portfolio in an Excel based exercise.
Security Selection 00:08:00
In this module you will learn about the further analysis undertaken following the results of the quantitative screening model. Listen to Robert share with you how he verifies the results of the screening model for hidden weaknesses in companies and the techniques he uses identify them.
Case Study 00:10:00
Listen to real life examples as Robert Swift discusses his views (as of 27-Nov-2015) on Northrop Grumman, Rolls Royce, Fuji Heavy and Volkswagen. Learn how these stocks rank in the Tamim VMQ process and how they fared following further analysis on their strategic strengths and weaknesses from Robert and his team.
Portfolio Construction 00:09:00
In this final module, you will learn about how to bring the selected stocks together into a portfolio using methodologies such as stratified sampling, sizing by volatility and targeted tracking error. Also learn about important considerations of currency hedging and the market impact of trading when running an international portfolio.
