There are numerous restrictions surrounding the types of investments and transactions you can and cannot make within your SMSF. In this course we use material from the ATO to allow you to learn more about what investments are allowed in your SMSF what is not allowed and the consequences for failing to comply with the rules on your SMSF investment activities.

In this module, you will learn about the requirement of your fund's assets to be separate from your personal assets and why this is required.
	SMSFIR3 Loans and Early Access	00:02:00
Learn about the restrictions on lending money to fund members and relatives and the consequences of breaching this requirement.
	SMSFIR4 Related Party Transactions	00:03:00
This module explains your ability to transact with related parties including the restrictions on what parties your SMSF can buy and sell assets from as well as the terms of such transactions.
	SMSFIR5 Arms Length	00:02:00
Learn about the arms length rules for SMSF transactions, the requirement for transactions to be on this basis and the consequences of breaching this requirement.
	SMSFIR6 In House Assets	00:02:00
In this module you will learn about what constitutes an in house asset, the restrictions of holding in house assets and the consequences of breaching this rule.
	SMSFIR7 Borrowing	00:02:00
Generally funds are not allowed to borrow unless it is on a limited recourse basis. Learn what this means and the importance of getting limited recourse borrowing arrangement correct.
	SMSFIR8 Business Real Property	00:02:00
In this final module, you will learn about the ability of your fund to invest in real property and what type of assets are defined as business real property.
